1.0 ODeL
E-Learning is defined as a formal educational process in which the majority of the instruction occurs when student and instructor are separated by time and/or location. The Students admitted to Africa International university (AIU) may register in any of the courses that is offered by Open, Distance and e-learning (ODeL). Distance Learning (DL) courses offer one to four semester hours of credit and are equivalent to on-campus courses in terms of transferability (no distinction is made on college transcripts). Although there are no special requirements for these courses, an extra amount of time, motivation, self-discipline, and dependable computer/internet access are required. Courses are offered each semester. Although DL courses are delivered online, many courses require students to meet on-campus for orientation, labs, and/or exams. Times and locations are available in the online orientation, class syllabus.
1.1 Procedures
ODeL operates under the guidelines of Africa International university general policies and commission for university Education standards and guidelines 2013. The procedures manual focuses on Management of development of academic programmes and study materials; Management of production and distribution of study materials; Management of student support services; Management of information and records systems; Management of student assessment and examinations. Management of monitoring, evaluation and research. This procedure’s Manual is guided and complies with the commission for University.
