OPEN BOOK - End of Semester Exams

At the end of every semester at Africa International University (AIU), students undergo a two-week exam period that marks the culmination of their coursework. This period may involve traditional sit-in exams, open book exams, projects, or presentations—depending on the nature of each course. These assessments are a key opportunity for you to demonstrate your understanding and application of the concepts covered throughout the semester.

For each exam session, students receive a finalized exam timetable via their official AIU email account a few days before exams begin. This follows the release of a draft schedule to allow for necessary adjustments or clarifications. In the current semester, the exams will run from 14th to 25th April 2025.

About Open Book Exams

Open Book Exams are one of the common modes of end-of-semester assessments. These are designed to test your ability to apply knowledge rather than recall facts. You are allowed to refer to your course materials, notes, and textbooks during the exam. However, you must work independently and adhere to the academic integrity guidelines.

Open Book Exams are scheduled across three daily sessions: Morning: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM; Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM;  Evening: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Make sure to regularly check your AIU email and the ODeL portal for updates regarding exam formats, instructions, and access links for the Open Book Exams.
